Villages are local, volunteer-led, grassroots organizations that aim to support community members who choose to age-in-place. A representative from Montgomery County Aging and Disability Services, Pazit Aviv, will explain the village concept and how it might be developed in Leisure World. This presentation, sponsored by the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL), will be at 2:00 on Wednesday January 22 in the Clubhouse II Norbeck Room.

Each village is unique and reflects the character, interests and needs of the community that creates it. They foster social connections through activities and events and coordinate volunteer help at home using a neighbor-helping-neighbor model.

You are invited to hear about the many county communities that have created their villages and to join a conversation about the concept and its benefits.  This presentation is free and residents are asked to register beginning January 7, by calling or visiting the Lifestyle office in Clubhouse I or II.
