UNDERSTANDING YOUR iPhone
BEYOND THE BASICS
It is not unusual for most senior citizens to own iPhones and have only the basic knowledge of what they can do with the instrument. With a partnership with AARP, the Center for Lifelong Learning has scheduled a tech workshop to enlighten seniors on use of their iPhones to take place Thursday, March 5th in the Clubhouse 1 Crystal Ballroom in two sessions. The Basic workshop will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:30. This will be followed by an Advanced session from 1;00 to 2:00 PM.. The workshop will be conducted by Kat Tan, Community Program Manager of AARP. While the program is free, residents should register with E&R to attend .
Residents will explore their smartphone or tablet capabilities in AARP’s hands-on interactive technology workshops. Whether you’re a new technology user or want to elevate your tech skills, the workshop will offer both beginner and intermediate classes. The intro to iPhone workshop will explore the very basics of smart devices, how to use touch screen, learn to text message with friends and family, and make memories by using the camera on your device and share them instantly.
If you couldn’t get enough of the Intro, then residents should stick around for the Beyond the Basics where you will learn how to simplify your life with Siri. You will learn how to keep your personal information safe on your device. Don’t have an iPhone? Or don’t have a smart device at all? No worries devices are provided for practice.
