Committees
Leisure World’s Center for Lifelong Learning has four committees that help run the organization.
Curriculum Committee
The curriculum committee oversees our adult education programs. Its core functions involve the design, review, and evaluation of all classes and lectures. Specific responsibilities include instructor recruitment, review of proposals for new programs, evaluating the impact of proposals on available CLL resources (personnel, facilities, and equipment), scheduling of operations, classroom management, and analysis of data from student assessments.
Communications Committee
The communications committee shapes CLL’s public image and strategic messages. This includes ensuring that communications align with CLL’s mission, reaching out to target audiences and determining the most effective channels to connect with them. Specific tasks include editing a newsletter, writing newspaper articles and press releases, editing website content, creating targeted CLL email messages, and survey development.
Technology Committee
The technology committee oversees the CLL website and email system and maintains an inventory of CLL software and equipment. Other duties include recommendation of new software packages and equipment with budgetary requirements, implementation of new systems, development of cybersecurity practices, and training support for CLL technology users.
Resource Development Committee
The resource development committee ensures CLL’s financial health and sustainability. Its primary focus is on overseeing all fundraising and resource-generating activities. This includes development of fundraising goals and strategies that involve a balanced mix of funding sources – which include program fees, grants, sponsorships, membership dues, and individual donations.
